I have spent my life in the pursuit of answers to the question “How do we get what we get?” As we develop our human Self, we begin to wonder “where” we should begin and end. Sometimes the chaos of the world pushes us in directions that are not really for our highest and best good. And, if we are not consciously creating our lives, we end up in places that do not support and serve us well.
Because I am the Creator of my life in this dimension, the responsibility for choosing what supports and serves my life is important. Being able to receive guidance from my God Self via my spiritual body is important to assist in the choices I make regarding my “place” in life. Place is not just location but has spiritual, mental, emotional components in addition to the physical considerations.
When I was 9 or 10 years old, I just knew I was going to be a teacher. Interestingly, I discovered that we’re all teachers, teaching ourselves various aspects of ourselves and others, and how life functions in this dimension.
Discovering who I am and what I want to create in life changes as my awareness of Self and life expands. When I choose to change the place where I’m existing/living life, I automatically change the opportunities for expanding my awareness of life – people, culture, nature – trees, mountains, water, snow, sun, rain, animals, etc. What I expose the energies of my Self to impacts my Self. When I choose to place my Self in tranquility vs. chaos, I thrive. When I place my Self in places where I have difficulty communicating with people for whatever reason (intellect, language, timing) I feel more stressed. When I place my Self near others who are focused on producing results, I produce better results!
The thing about Place is that, as adults, we get to choose where we place ourselves: in peace, love, wisdom, joy or chaos, violence, stress, destruction. If we don’t know ourselves well, if we don’t recognize our role as Creator of our life in this dimension, we may be making choices based on what others want us to choose, what others are choosing for themselves or what just what life throws at us.
Too many people play the victim in life because they are not willing or they tell themselves they are not able to create what they want in life. I so wish I had crossed the path of the wisest person on earth when I was young to have them tell me in plain language: “Life is difficult. Life is not fair. You are the creator of your life. What will you create?” Instead, I’ve spent most of my life researching “How do we get what we get in life?” so I could create a satisfying life for my Self.
Place is where we each decide to put our Self in the pursuit of enlightenment, equanimity, empowerment and enjoyment. Like Home, Place is where we make it. Once we realize we “create” our Place, life becomes more predictable, safer and more stable, and we become more satisfied with life.
